Team bios
Joakim Reuter — Owner & technician
Joakim has been soldering since he was fourteen and repairing for a living since 2012. He does the board-level work, the jobs other shops refuse, and he keeps a drawer of hopeless cases he is determined to bring back one day. Two of them have come back.
Naomi Ferreira — Senior technician
Naomi handles data recovery and the diagnostics nobody else wants, and she has a genuinely unnerving talent for finding the one bad capacitor. She writes every quote in plain language, because she got tired of watching people nod at words they did not know.
Aziz Rahmani — Front of house
Aziz takes the machines in, explains what is likely and what it will cost, and rings you the moment anything changes. He set up the seventy-two-hour testing routine for refurbished stock. He is unfailingly patient with people who have backed nothing up, which is most of us.
Quotes
“Two other places told me the laptop was dead. These people replaced an $18 part and handed it back the same afternoon with an apology for the delay. The delay was two hours!”
Marisol Trent, Laptop repair
“I brought in a drive with eleven years of photographs on it and got them back — “about 94% of it, we lost some video”. I would have paid five times what they actually charged me.”
Ewan Brickhill, Data recovery
“They talked me out of a new machine and into $130 of memory and a drive. Two years later it is still fine. That conversation cost them a sale and earned them a customer for good.”
Lydia Karpov, Upgrade rather than replace
FAQ answers
How long does a screen repair take?
About 45 minutes for the common models, which we hold in stock, and two to four working days for anything we have to order in. You get a firm date when you drop it off. If we quote a date and miss it, the repair is 20% off — that has happened four times in three years.
Is my data safe while you have it?
We do not need your passcode for most repairs and we will tell you when we do. Nothing is copied off a device unless you have asked for a transfer, the benches are not connected to the shop network, and every recycled drive is wiped to a certified standard.
Do you work on machines you did not sell?
Almost always, whatever the age and whichever platform it runs. The only things we turn away are devices somebody else has opened and put back together with parts we cannot identify — at that point a quote would be a guess, and we do not guess with your money.
Is a refurbished machine worth it?
For most people, yes. You get a two- or three-year-old device at around 40% below new, with a fresh battery where it needed one, a clean install and the same twelve-month warranty. What you do not get is the newest processor, and for mail, documents and browsing that stopped mattering years ago.
Closing lines
We are open 9:00–18:00 from Monday to Friday and 10:00–16:00 on Saturday, closed on Sunday. The bench stops taking new work an hour before we close, so that nothing gets rushed at the end of the day.
Bring the thing in rather than describing it over the phone — five minutes on the bench beats twenty minutes of guessing. Diagnosis is free, the quote is firm, and you are perfectly welcome to say no.
