Team bios
Dev Chatterjee — Sales manager
Dev has sold cars for sixteen years and stopped working on commission in 2019, which changed the conversation more than anything else we have tried. He will tell you when the cheaper car on the next row is the better buy. Ask him about diesel and allow forty minutes.
Marika Pohl — Business manager
Marika arranges the finance and explains it properly: total payable, balloon payment, what happens at the end of the agreement and what it costs to hand the car back. She has turned down deals she thought people could not afford, four times this year.
Stefan Prohaska — Vehicle preparation
Stefan runs the workshop where every car is inspected, repaired and cleaned before it goes out. He is the reason a fifteen-year-old hatchback here still smells clean inside. He also decides which cars we send straight to auction, and he is unsentimental about it.
Quotes
“They knocked £900 off because the front tyres had only 3 mm left and I had not even noticed. Who volunteers a thing like that before you have signed anything?”
Rachel Bowden, Bought a 2019 estate
“I was braced for the usual three-hour ordeal. I test drove on my own, they valued my old car in writing, and I drove away the next morning at 10:30. Two hours in total, coffee included!”
Nathan Ferris, Part exchange, second purchase
“The warranty actually paid out. Gearbox at seven months, £1,840 of work, and the only question anybody asked me was “when do you need the car back?””
Deniz Aksoy, Bought in March, claimed in October
FAQ answers
Can I test drive on my own?
Yes. Bring your licence, we photograph it, and you take the car for up to an hour on whatever roads you like. Our insurance covers drivers between 25 and 75 who have held a full licence for two years. Nobody sits in the passenger seat.
What warranty comes with the car?
Twelve months on cars over £6,000 and six months below that, covering parts and labour on the major mechanical and electrical components. Wear items — pads, tyres, wipers, clutches — are excluded, as they are everywhere. The document runs to two pages and we would rather you read it.
Will you buy my car outright?
Yes, and about a third of what we take in is bought that way. Bring the service history, both keys and the registration document. The valuation is written, valid for seven days, and paid by bank transfer the same afternoon, usually within two hours.
Is the mileage on the car genuine?
We check every recorded reading against the service history and the national mileage register, and the printout comes with the car. If anything fails to line up, the car is not on our forecourt. Two failed that check last quarter and both went straight back.
Closing lines
Come on a weekday if you can — Saturdays are busy and you will get less of our time. The forecourt is open 09:00–18:00 Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 on Saturday, and closed all day Sunday.
Nothing here is sold against a deadline. If a car is right for you, it will still be right on Thursday, and if it sells before then another one will come in. We take about forty cars a month and turn down rather more than that.
